He waits patiently at the gate
Looking forward to some turnout
It all began at a horse show in 2010
I saw him performing with Liz aboard
Leg feathers flying and looking graceful
We began our journey tentatively
I leased him first without buying
He didn't feel that he belonged
So one day he took advantage of an opportunity
And tried to run away!
Up the street he went a trotting with tail held high
But he stopped once everything looked unfamiliar
Thank goodness I got him back home
One year we earned Reserve Champion
The next we began trail riding
The next year we went riding on the Choctaw Nations Trail
The next year we qualified for Para-Dressage Nationals
Such an amazingly willing and safe partner he was
And beautiful too!
Compliments were common.
Our journey has been so fantastic
From I don't trust you to I will do anything for you
Some say animals don't love
But I say sometimes their love is the most loyal love.
And I agree with you wholeheartedly, once they trust you they give their love unconditionally, they have no agendas ……….just love ❤️
